Youth for Christ has served young people across the United States since 1944 and now includes 135 chapters nationwide. West Central Minnesota Youth for Christ is located on the edge of downtown Willmar, Minnesota, in a well-known building that serves as a gateway into the city.
In 2021, Youth for Christ committed to a major property improvement project to increase its impact on area youth, improve visibility, and create a stronger first impression. The organization partnered with Duininck to develop a comprehensive plan for a large vacant lot adjacent to the existing parking area. The final scope included construction of a new basketball court, full reconstruction of the parking lot, and creation of a landscaped green space with seating.
Grading work began in late July 2021, followed by paving in early August. The project was completed in August 2021 and delivered a durable, multi-purpose outdoor space designed for daily use and large community gatherings.
