Highway 23 Resurfacing

A highway with two cars driving along it, bordered by grassy shoulders and trees. A blue road sign on the right reads East Minnesota 23 under a clear, blue sky.

The Highway 23 project is part of a larger effort to expand the existing two-lane highway to four lanes between Willmar, Minnesota, and St. Cloud, Minnesota. As part of this work, Duininck resurfaced a section of Highway 23 near Spicer, Minnesota.

The scope included milling the existing roadway surface and placing an ultra-thin bonded wear course. This resurfacing method allowed crews to cover a large section of roadway while working in an area with high traffic volumes.

“They covered a lot of roadway on this project, approximately 44 lane miles. It was difficult working in an area with a high volume of fast traffic, but we took extra safety precautions and worked closely with MnDOT to keep our crews safe.”
